Kaitlin Butts called her tour manager to the stage to help her with a wardrobe malfunction during a show in Oklahoma City, but it turns out, that wasn’t the real reason the Roadrunner star shared the stage with her best friend.
Butts said as she shared the moment on TikTok that she was “faking” the wardrobe malfunction, and asked tour manager Sophia Wells to help her while thousands of concertgoers cheered. Butts admitted she was “kind of glad this is happening.” She and Wells met and became college roommates about 13 years ago in Oklahoma City.
Butts said she received a DM from Wells on Instagram about two years ago (and shared the screenshot), asking whether she needed a backup singer because “your guitar player is really cute.” Butts said”no, but I need a tour manager. And she’s been working for me for the last two years. I’m just honored to have her, and I think she should turn around right now, too.”
Wells turned to find the guitar player on one knee.
Butts said that’s “how my tour manager and my guitar player found love,” and wrote in her caption on TikTok: “10/10 recommend watching your best friends get engaged in front of 5k people.” Watch that moment here:
