Sam Hunt was arrested for speeding and violating an interlock device — a device that’s designed to prevent a driver from operating the vehicle if they’ve consumed alcohol — earlier this month in Henderson County, Tennessee, located in the Western part of the state between Nashville and Memphis.

Hunt, 40, was arrested on January 20 and released from jail the same day on a bond of $1,500, TMZ reported on Wednesday afternoon (January 29), citing police records. A spokesperson for the “Leave The Night On” artist confirmed to the celebrity news hub that Hunt will not face charges. The singer’s lawyer reportedly cleared paperwork this past week, and the speeding ticket Hunt received will be paid. Hunt previously faced DUI charges when he was arrested in Nashville in 2019. he pleaded guilty to those misdemeanor charges in 2021, and seemingly addressed the incident in his 2024 song, “Locked Up.” The song inspired the name of Hunt’s headlining tour last year.

Hunt is known for career-spanning this like “Outskirts,” “Body Like A Back Road,” “Kinfolks,” “23,” “Take Your Time,” “Break Up In A Small Town,” “Hard To Forget,” “House Party,” “Breaking Up Was Easy In he 90’s,” and others throughout his career. He released his debut studio album, Montevallo, in October 2014. Hunt revealed in November that he and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, are expecting Baby No. 3 in 2025. The baby will join big sister Lucy Louise, turning 3 in May, and brother Lowry Lee, who turned 1 in October.
