'Local Boy on Animal Planet for Dog Rescue Efforts'

From The Augusta Chronicle:

Seven-year-old Roman McConn, of Evans, has received a lot of awards and honors for his tireless work saving thousands of dogs from high-kill shelters and sending them to homes elsewhere in the country. Add television star and member of the "Dodo Heroes" to that list.

Roman and his family will be featured on the latest episode of "Dodo Heroes" at 9 p.m. Saturday on Animal Planet, a global series that celebrates the bonds between people and animals and the extraordinary lengths some go to help animals. Roman's episode follows his work with Augusta Animal Services as they worked to ready dozens of dogs for a trip to new homes in the Pacific Northwest.

"I thought the episode was pretty good," Roman said. "It was fun to see the dogs again."

Some of it shows just how normal a kid Roman is – Saturdays he gets up, eats breakfast, plays with Legos and then heads down to the shelter to work with the dogs they are getting ready for transport.
