While these sea creatures are interesting and pretty awesome to look at while you're at the beach, you may want to rethink the whole 'looking for sea turtles' this summer. Sea turtle nesting season begins tomorrow, May 1st! Myrtle Beach officials have forewarned about the issues when it comes to people beaming lights and scaring away the sea turtles. It could land you jail time and fines of up to $15,000. WRDW-Channel 12 reports, "Officials say it's illegal to feed, touch or disturb the turtles, including shining a light on them."
