If you've ever owned a dog... you know the joy and friendship they bring to our lives. Their loyalty and love are unlike anything else you'll find on this earth! There's only one problem! They don't live long enough.
It's hard to watch your dog get older... and some times they get sick. Unfortunately, some owners can't deal with it and leave their animals in shelters-- to be euthanized or die alone.
Thankfully, there are some big-hearted people like Nicola Coyle. She decided to set up a hospice in her home to take care of sick and abandoned dogs. She's a retired nurse, and will go to shelters, pounds, rescues and find dogs that are old and/or too sick.
She has been running "The Grey Muzzle Canine Hospice Project" for several years, but last year it became an official project. Coyle's children help her, and she takes in two dogs at a time to love and care for them-- giving them the best treatment-- attention, cuddles, treats, steak dinners, birthday parties.
She wants to make sure their last days are the best, even though it's hard on her to watch these sweet dogs go.
This organization is based out of the UK... do we have anything like this around here?
