Five Shootings In 3 Days In Aiken County

A fifth shooting has occurred in Aiken County in the last 3 days. The shooting last night happened around 10pm, injuring one person on Abbeville Avenue NW in Aiken. (WRDW)

Another shooting happened earlier in the day, around 5:30pm at Laurens Street and Columbia Avenue. The man was shot and laying in the road when EMS arrived. He was then taken to the hospital where he went into surgery.

The other three shootings may all be connected, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Department. Sunday night around 10:30, there was a call for a shooting at the intersection of Atomic Road and Beech Island Avenue-- where a 14-year-old girl got shot and injured. Another call later than night came from an incident on Shining Star Lane for alleged shooting into a home. And the third was early Monday morning when a woman was shot at her home on Augusta Road. She had been in bed asleep and was shot in the arm. Suspects had fled the scene in each of these incidences.

Investigators believe those three shooting may be gang related retaliations.
