New York Mets outfielder Jeff MCNeil is among the National League leaders in batting. So he probably didn't need a good luck charm. But now he's got one anyway . . .
An animal shelter in New York brought some puppies down on the field during warmups on Friday. And it turns out Jeff REALLY likes puppies.
He posed for a photo with one, and said he wanted to adopt it. But he had to clear it with his wife first.
Then in the third inning, he hit a three-run homer. And he gave the PUPPY credit for it after the game.
He said he was planning to use it as a bargaining chip to convince his wife Tatiana that the puppy's good luck.
And apparently she bought it. Because they adopted it the next day.
