The two sea otter pups were found off the coast of California earlier this year and were deemed non-releasable by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Their names are Mara (10 weeks old) and Gibson (5 weeks old). Their new home at the Georgia Aquarium was selected due to their ability to care for young pups requiring care round the clock.
They are currently behind the scenes at the aquarium as they adjust to their new life and new home.
