According to recent news, Family Dollar will be closing 390 stores this year, while also re-branding 200 stores under the Dollar Tree name. Last year during the fourth quarter, they closed 37 stores than planned-- with a total of 84. They also plan to renovate 1,000 stores this year.
Dollar Tree, a Virginia based company, acquired Family Dollar back in 2015 for almost $9 billion.
