A short police chase ended this morning near the Aldi in North Augusta.
Investigators with North Augusta Public Safety were made aware of someone allegedly stealing keys at the Walmart on Knox Avenue.
When officers saw the suspect’s vehicle, they began pursuit and shortly after, the suspect lost control of their SUV, ending with a crash near Aldi.
The driver tried to flee on foot, but was apprehended with charges pending.
A passenger is being treated at AU Medical Center for injuries sustained during the accident. Another passenger is being held for questioning.
No names have been released.
