I know a lot of kids are going back to school this week, and a lot of moms and dads are either nervous, or relieved (no judgment!). While I don't have kids of my own, I do have fur babies, and I treat them as if they are my children (no... of course they aren't spoiled... ha).
Well, I have a couple of trips coming up over the next few months and will need to board them. In the past, I've had a friend stay at the house and watch them, but she won't be available for my trips, so I had to find a place. Not going to lie, I have major anxiety about them being away from home. I had a really bad experience with a doggie daycare once with Cody (my black lab) and it has been hard to leave them for a day, much less over night.
Because of my anxiety, I wanted to do a test run (this was my choice, not necessary on the kennel's behalf). And they aren't staying overnight. I just wanted to see how they would do with the woman, and the dogs she's got there. I wanted to make sure this was a proper fit for them (and me!) before I leave them for a few days. I know I sound crazy, but these are my babies. I think Cody will be just fine, although Harley is a little more nervous around new people. I also worry about her being left overnight because she usually has to sleep RIGHT next to me (touching me) every night. But hopefully she'll be okay as long as Cody is there with her.
So ya'll say a prayer. This mama has some first day jitters. I know they'll be okay, but I just can't help it. From this video I took today, you can see they aren't worried!
When I dropped them off, they both jumped out of the Jeep with enthusiasm! They were eager to explore and heard the other dogs. Harley was whining before I left because I think she was ready to meet the others and play! I'll let ya know how they did!
