Carrie Underwood is keeping her traditions alive, even if they look a little different in 2020.
On Friday (September 25), the country star took a quick trip to Target to purchase a copy of her brand new album, My Gift, on the release day. Underwood turned to Instagram to share a photo of herself at the store, posing with the CD and wearing a face mask to follow coronavirus guidelines.
"As per tradition, had to go buy the CD at the store! As not per tradition, I had to wear a mask! I promise I’m smiling, though," Underwood wrote, alongside the photo. She wore jeans and a black floral top complete with a sparkly face mask, which one fan calls "on brand" for Underwood. See the full post below.
My Gift is Underwood's first-ever Christmas album. The new project is made up of several holiday classics, as well as some entirely new material. Underwood worked on the album with Greg Wells, who produced the album, and David Campbell, who led the orchestra accompanying her on the project.
"For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this," Underwood recently said of the project. "Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters."
My Gift is available everywhere now!
