Cody Alan Wins First-Ever CMA Award

Cody Alan has been burning the 'Midnite' oil, and his hard work has paid off!

The Country Music Association (CMA) announced their broadcast award winners and have tapped 'CMT After Midnite with Cody Alan' with the award in the 'Daily National Broadcast Personality of the Year' category.

While nominated for numerous years, this is Cody's first-time win.

"Hey Mom, I won a CMA Award!!" says the radio host in a post he shared on Instagram with friends, family, and fans.

"Thank you @CMA! Because I couldn't drive after dark when I was 15 years old working at my local radio station, my Mom would drive me at 11:30 PM to work the overnight shift on Saturday night, and then my Dad would pick me up at 6 AM Sunday morning."

"I knew then I loved being on the air! My parents supported me and believed that no matter how whack, they would help me live out my dreams. A debt I can never repay. That belief buoyed me and gave me strength that maybe I could be something," Cody shared. I've never won a CMA Award until today, which makes it all the sweeter that after all the years of hard work—and people who believed in me— it happened."

"Can't say thanks enough to the many good people who tune in day after day, night after night—thank YOU…without you, there is no us," says Cody. "Thanks to the stations, managers and PD's who choose to broadcast the shows. And most especially to my radio team in Nashville and the @CMT family who, over the years, have worked hard to make me sound and look better than I am. And congrats to all the nominees! I'm honored to stand along side you. See you November 10th!

This year's CMA Awards will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8/7c on ABC

Want to hear Cody's favorite country music stories or learn how he navigated the music industry by mastering the art of being a world-class listener?

Pre-order a signed copy of Cody's book 'Hear's The Thing' now at www.CodyAlanBook.com.

"It might seem strange for a guy who talks for a living to write a book about shutting up and listening," says Cody. "But I've discovered that in a world of noise, with so many voices talking, we could learn a lot by stopping to listen. Not just listening to others, but also to ourselves. I thought it would be fun to share stories from my personal journey, country music adventures, and experienced insights on what I've learned about life, career, and love from listening."

'Hear's The Thing' will hit the shelves on November 9, 2021, and will be published by Harper Horizon, an imprint of Harper Collins.
