Morgan Says Goodbye After Nearly 10 Years On The Bobby Bones Show

Morgan announced that she is leaving The Bobby Bones Show after nearly 10 years with the show and 11 years at iHeartRadio.

She shared that while working on the show had been her dream job for many years, she has reached a point where she wants to pursue new opportunities, continue growing professionally, and find fulfillment outside of her current role. Bobby explained that Morgan had privately shared her decision with him beforehand, emphasizing that no one had pressured her to leave. He recalled telling her that if she truly felt she needed a new direction, she should pursue it. Morgan said making the decision was difficult because the show had been such a significant part of her life. She spent her entire 20s working there, experiencing major life milestones and learning countless lessons along the way. Despite feeling comfortable in her role, she has been recently challenging herself not to remain somewhere simply because it is familiar. Lunchbox jokingly suggested that Morgan's fiancé had influenced her decision, teasing that relationships have sometimes changed dynamics on the show. Morgan quickly clarified that her fiancé had been nothing but supportive, explaining that he encouraged her to make whatever decision was best for her. She added that having a strong support system gave her the confidence to make changes she may not have felt ready to make on her own.

Bobby also reflected on Morgan's responsibilities managing the show's social media accounts, noting that she regularly faced negative comments online. He compared constantly reading criticism to working in an emotionally draining profession, saying he understood how spending so much time in that environment could take a toll. Morgan admitted that her mental health has struggled, particularly over the past year. She said constant exposure to social media contributed to those challenges and that she has realized how important it is to prioritize both her mental and physical well-being. She shared that watching her parents get older also influenced her perspective, leading her to seek a healthier balance in life. She hopes to spend more time traveling, experiencing new things, and simply enjoying life outside of work.

Bobby asked whether she already had another job lined up, and Morgan said she did not. She confirmed that she had saved enough money to take time before finding her next opportunity. Bobby told her that whenever she is ready for her next role, he would gladly recommend her, calling her an outstanding employee. Morgan acknowledged that leaving without another job is frightening but she believes it is the right decision. She described it as one of the biggest risks she has ever taken, but one that aligns with her goal of pushing herself beyond her comfort zone. Bobby praised Morgan for choosing fulfillment over comfort, recognizing how difficult it is to walk away from a secure position. He also noted that the timing coincides with another major life change, as Morgan is preparing to get married. Morgan agreed that leaving the show and getting married at the same time means several chapters of her life are closing while new ones begin. She admitted many people might think making both changes simultaneously is a wild decision but she has always been one to "dive head first."

The show revealed that Morgan's final day will be this Friday. Bobby encouraged her not to worry about the show's future, telling her the team would figure everything out and that she should feel free to pursue what comes next. He also jokingly predicted she would return after a month, while Morgan laughed noting that she was looking forward to simple things like sleeping in, eating breakfast at home, taking long showers and living at a slower pace. Looking ahead to Morgan's final show, Bobby assigned her the task of sharing her five favorite memories from her decade on the show. He also asked listeners to avoid posting negative comments on social media during her final days with the show.
