TMSG: Girl Builds Birthday Boxes For Classmates Who Can't Afford Parties

One 9-year-old girl is going above and beyond to make sure her classmates are having great birthdays. Bella Smith, a third grader at Wyan-Pine Grove Elementary School in Kentucky, launched "Bella's Boxes" two years ago.

Bella started the project after a classmate told her his family couldn't afford to throw him a birthday party. The school she attends is a Title 1 school which means 80% of the population is impoverished. Bella decided to create "birthday boxes" which she gives to fellow students on their birthdays. These boxes contain: cake mix, balloons, icing, and sprinkles.

She receives donations from community members and even asked for birthday box donations instead of gifts for her own birthday. So far she has packed 65 boxes this year and is still going!
