The Richmond County Success Center was built to help students in and out of the classroom. It will be a one stop shop for any challenges they face.
The manager of the project, Natalie Bracey, says they want to provide for the whole child and the whole family.
The facility does not get federal funding-- all money will come from community partnerships (like Golden Harvest Food Bank and Weinberger).
Caring for the students as a whole will lead to more success all around. When kids are struggling at home, it can affect their attitudes and performance at school.
The center will feature a boutique, where students can take community donated clothes and there's also a washing machine for them to use.
Dr. Ed Sanderson, the director of student services for the school district, believe this will be a life-changing project.
The Richmond County Success Center is open and available for Richmond County students and their families, from 7am-6pm Monday through Friday, with hopes to expand to weekends in the future!
